Fisher’s 9 Months Old!

Image

My baby is growing up so fast!  He was officially 9 months old on February 10th and we recently had a photo session with Kristina Hall Photography.  She is amazing with him and takes the sweetest pictures!  Let me tell you that it does not get easier to photograph them as they get older – all of the moving around is just crazy, but they do have more facial expressions and are able to do more so you have better options.  Needless to say, it was challenging, but we got some great photos!  Now we have to plan for his 1st Birthday photos (EEK!).

It is difficult to try to describe how the time has flown by.  I think when people use that expression they say it with regret like they didn’t get to do everything they wanted in the 9 months or however long the time period may have been for them.  I feel like it has been 9 months for sure, but that I do have a few regrets in terms of how my time has been spent throughout those 9 months.  Did I get full satisfaction out of my time with Fisher???  I will never get that time back so it is important that I am happy with it.  Well, I probably could have done more in those 9 months, but I just need to continue to make the most of these oh so important “baby years” with him and with our little family.

So we move forward…we move onward…c’est la vie!!!  Off to very exciting moments watching him crawl all over the house and begin to pull up and let go and all kinds of fun things.  Fun food explorations…new sounds and new words.  His expressions are priceless!  We just continue to make those memories and enjoy our time together.

Is it time for a new addition!?!

Yummy in my Tummy

Yummy in my Tummy

My baby is getting so big already. He turned 5 months old last Thursday! It sounds cliche, but time really does fly. Especially when you work part-time, try to keep up with housework, make time for your hubby, the dogs and a little time for yourself. Who am I kidding??? There is no time for yourself! I try to remember, or as my husband would say…”you’re a person too!”. It is so hard, but every time we are all spending time together I remember how its all worth it. Love my life!

This was Fisher’s first time eating rice cereal. He doesn’t seem too terribly interested in food yet, but it was fun. Plus, I think it helps him grow and keep his tummy nice and full.

…and I will make you Fisher’s of men

I can only think of the most cliche sayings when it comes to my son…he’s the apple of my eye…he is my everything. Everything – that just about sums it up.  About 4 months ago I got the most important responsibility of my life.

He’s just about the most perfect baby ever. Most of the typical questions you get I could answer with what most people only dream of saying. How is he sleeping at night? oh about 10 or 11 hours. how is breastfeeding going?  he is a natural!  Although we don’t have the perfect schedule down yet (we’ll discuss that in another post), things are just right for us.

I have pretty much always known that I wanted to be a mother. It took us a little longer than we would have liked, but he has a plan for all of us, right???  Maybe that’s a thought for another post. Lots of good ideas here!

We couldn’t have found out we were expecting at the most perfect time. It was a year ago today and we were spending the holiday weekend with my parents in St. Louis. We took a test and had a grin on our faces ear-to-ear. Of course we had to tell my parents!!!  They were thrilled…and I think a bit shocked to find out.

I absolutely loved being pregnant. If I could always be pregnant and just keep popping kids out (and we could afford it) then I would!  Well as you know, about 9 months later, I had a beautiful baby boy. Twenty hours of labor and the boy’s head was just too big to fit, but we gave it a good try. C-section here we come! It all happened so fast. When the doctor pulled him out it was like he had always been a part of our lives and I finally found out what I wanted to be when I grew up…A MOM!!!

I love you Fisher Elliot – born at 2:46 pm on May 10, 2013; weighing in at 8 lbs. 12.6 oz and 22 inches long. My life. We hope to be adding to the brood soon! 😉

With love,

Alison
